World's First Energy Generating Revolving Door

Moving away from a coal based economy is one of the top priorities for many governments. Clean energy is what is being looked at, including wind energy and solar energy. Boon Edam has come up with a very cool idea. It’s the first energy generating revolving door.

This new concept revolving door has recently been installed in Netherlands-based Natuurcafé La Port. Each time a customer walks in or out of this coffee shop, they are doing their part towards a greener world by generating a little bit of energy. The door is expected to generate 4600 kwh of energy each year. This may not seem to be a lot of energy, but imagine if such a door or similar product was installed in a large number of locations.

- Electricity issues are rising as time passes by, the depletion of electricity is a big threat for us. Some are formulating solutions to coup up with this problem and some had already deployed or integrated what they have. I can say that this is one of those integrations which can be an answer for the problems regarding electricity. Good thing Mr. Boon Edam had the idea to make such things, it may be a little thing for now, but if applied to large scales and used wisely, I guess it may be a great source of energy.
It's kinda rational to make these kind of technology. Everyone moves and movement is the action needed so that the gadget will work according to its use. If the technology is viewed in a large scale, it may also be a big deal. It's similar having solar powered cars or hydro-electric powered stuff because people are moving from time to time, going to school or going to work.

Downside is that we need a lot of materials having this kind of technology, if material is not the issue, maybe the technology a certain country has and their capability to buy stuff. Like here in our country, I admit we are not that capable of buying the featured gadget on a large scale, so we consider the downside of this kind of technology. It may also have flaws like remote areas where people are not that really moving or not going in and out of a location. Maybe the technology can still be upgraded or its concept can be used to other types of gadgets so that it can be used by all. I MEAN ALL PEOPLE!=D
